Thank You, Volunteers!
The Democratic Committee Headquarters garnered some of the most enthusiastic and energized volunteers that this county has ever seen. The accomplishments were unprecedented for our rural county. It was a grassroots movement, homegrown and born from our greatest asset -- Genesee County people that wanted to effect change right here.
What we did:

Made thousands of phone contacts right here in Genesee County -- reaching out neighbor to neighbor.
Walked hundreds of neighborhoods across the county.
Wrote letters to the editor giving voice to our movement, our ideals and the vision of the candidates we supported.
Visibility -- showing the community that we are here.
Post cards and letters to friends
Voter registration drives that yielded hundreds of new voters.
Lit drops in two communities.
Election day volunteers -- poll watchers, visibility, get out the vote efforts, drivers, etc

Other support came from behind the scenes. Whether it was feeding volunteers, bringing in office supplies and furnishings or delivering signs. Every effort was appreciated.

Our volunteers ranged in age from 15 to 70+. I want to give a personal shout out to one volunteer in particular. Russ Stresing gave this effort his all. Without his hard work and dedication our GC office would not have operated at the level of efficiency that we garnered. I profoundly and sincerely thank Russ and all of you for stepping up in such an extraordinary way.

Genesee County Democratic Committee Headquarters Hours
The Genesee County Democratic Committee Headquarters, located at 10 City Centre, Batavia, NY (across from Sunny's), will be open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Voter registration cards will be available to anyone needing to register. Remember, October 10th is the last day to register in order to be eligible to vote this November.

Genesee County Democrats Elect New Chair
Lorie Longhany was elected Genesee County Democratic Committee's new Chair. She replaces Charlie Mallow who did not seek a new term. Longhany had been Vice Chair for the Committee.

Joe Cassidy, who had been serving as Secretary for the Committee, was elected Vice Chair. Barb Kapperman was elected to fill the position of Secretary.
